Nowadays Computer mathematics system (CMS) is intensively penetrating into the measuring technology. Matrix CMS MATLAB has become the world standard of the software for the solution, programming and mathematical modeling of serious scientific and technical tasks. At the end of 2009 President of Tektronix Amir Aghdaei visited Russia for the first time. Mr. Aghdaei and new head of Moscow representation of Tektronix company Patrice Jaunasse were invited for the interview by the editorial office of our magazine “Test & Measuring Instruments and systems”. Tektronix President informed about a new sphere of Tektronix activity – multimeters which are of very high interest for the company since being a promising market with high opportunity of growth. Of course there were questions concerning the financial crises asked and its influence on the company and Russian market, which according to the opinion of Tektronix representatives tends to change for the better judging from the business results of Textronix. These are just brief issues of the interview. Some professions and sciences were born centuries ago and nowadays can be easily called the most ancient. Metrology has a full right to be considered one of them. Humanity was interested in the questions connected with legal and applied metrology long time ago when the first civilizations and states started to develop. Even at that time those questions were rather timely. Metrology development was very tightly connected with astronomy, arithmetic, geometry and other units of ancient science. LAN (eXtensions for Instrumentation) is an open, accessible standard identifying specifications and solutions relating to the functional test, measurement, and data acquisition industry. LXI Standard was developed by the LXI Consortium - a not-for-profit corporation made up of industry-leading test and measurement companies. The LXI standard defines the communications protocols for instrumentation and data acquisition systems using open-standard LAN (Ethernet) - accessible and versatile interface, that must be implemented for instrumentation to communicate effectively. LXI is the next generation of test systems combining state-of-the-art measurements in a small package at a cost-effective price.

In high-tech fields the problem of measuring was always at the first place and the measurement of dynamic processes can be considered the leader in this direction. MIC-300M device adoption and its modifications let experts provide the register of dynamic processes. With frequency 216 kHz/channel, wide dynamic range up to 120 dB and high metrological performance this device has been used almost for all types of measurement. Its use has enabled the development of new measuring methods. Besides of the economic recession productronica-2009 confirmed that it has a complete right to be considered the world’s leading trade fair. The products and innovative developments by more than 1150 companies were introduced in New Munich Trade Fair Center. This time the exhibition managed to unite visitors of very high professionalism whose quality was at the very high level. All visitors spent much time getting acquainted with booths. That was another specification of the exhibition – a new way of exhibit display. Some stands could demonstrate its exhibits work on-line. In addition to the core areas of productronica – PCBs and other circuit-carrier manufacturing, production technologies in cable processing, component mount technology, soldering technology and measuring and test technology – the trade fair presented fast-growing products and technologies, which stand for progress and the future.
