Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP n.a. P.Neporozhny — a unique facility of XX century. Its construction began in 1963 and on December 13, 2000, RAO UES of Russia put this hydroelectric power station in the constant ex-ploitation. The sadly notorious disaster occurred on August 17, 2009. The author in his article considers the background and details of the accident.
