Anritsu Company Extends Frequency Coverage of ShockLine Compact and Economy VNA Families to 43.5 GHz

Anritsu Company Extends Frequency Coverage of ShockLine Compact and Economy VNA Families to 43.5 GHz

10/30/2015

Anritsu Company announces that it has extended the frequency coverage of its MS46322A Series ShockLine™ Economy Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and MS46122A Series ShockLine Compact VNAs to 43.5 GHz. By supporting the higher frequency, the low-cost VNAs can efficiently conduct S-parameter and time domain measurements on RF and microwave passive devices up to 43.5 GHz in a variety of cost-sensitive engineering, manufacturing and university testing applications.

Based on patented ShockLine VNA-on-a-chip technology, which simplifies the internal VNA architecture at high frequencies, the MS46322A and MS46122A Series offer best-in-class performance for the price. The MS46122A VNAs are available in three frequency ranges of 1 MHz to 8/20/43.5 GHz, while the MS46322A offers six models with coverage of 1 MHz to 4/8/14/20/30/43.5 GHz.

Both instruments have typical dynamic range of 110 dB at 43.5 GHz and wide IF bandwidths for fast test times and maximum throughput. The MS46122A and MS46322A have high level noise of <0.006 dB at 43.5 GHz and a sweep speed of typically 220 µs/point. The performance of the ShockLine VNAs provides users with reduced measurement uncertainty and small guard bands when testing cables, connectors, filters, antennas and other passive components.

Anritsu has designed the 1U high, two-port MS46122A and 2U high, two-port MS46322A Series to be used in applications requiring a small footprint and remote programming. Small and rugged chassis allow the VNAs to fit into standard rack mount configurations, while support of SCPI command programming and software drivers allow both series to be compatible with the most common programming environments. The MS46122A, with an external computer, or the MS46322A, via a touchscreen, keyboard and mouse, support a powerful graphical user interface (GUI) that simplifies developing and troubleshooting programs in automated test environments.

The MS46122A and MS46322A are two of five series that comprise the ShockLine family of low-cost VNAs. Covering nine different frequency ranges in 1-, 2-, and 4-port models, the ShockLine family is available in multiple form factors and with LAN or USB interfaces to fit any testing environment. Anritsu has developed the ShockLine performance VNAs to address the market need for solutions that can economically test passive devices in cost-sensitive applications.
