Astronomy, astrology, metrologyIn the following article the author tells about ancient astronomy, the ways of its changing and its growing connection with metrology since the instruments used for astronomy aims modernized and improved as the time was changing. Astronomy achievements led to the measurements of a day length, the cycle of celestial appearances which was the base for solar and lunar calendars. The appearance of a gnomon and the improvement of sun-clock made it possible to measure the diameter of the Earth. Afterwards there was a year length identified as well as the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
