Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2009 #2 In this article the author tells about application of infrasound and ultrasound in the science, technics and life and about maintenance of unity of measurements of infrasound and ultrasound See the article here Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2009 #1 The following article is devoted to the water and its role in life and metrology. The three conditions of water make it a unique substance. The most square of our planet is covered with water. It can be considered carrier and attribute of life. That’s why it was impossible for scientists not to study all its properties and therefore to show the important role of water not only in our life but in metrology as well. Author(s): Isaev L. Issue: KIPiS 2009 #1 The article is devoted to 175th anniversary of Great Russian scientist D.I. Mendeleev, the author of fundamental research in chemistry, physics, metrology, aerostatics, economy and other sciences without which it would be difficult to imagine any achievement in the field of technical progress. The author tells about the work of D.I. Mendeleev in International Committee Measures and Weights See the article here Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #6 The expression “As accurate as at the chemist's” appeared long time ago and even in this phrase the connection between metrology and medicine is obvious. The first measurement used for medication making appeared many centuries ago. Step by step a great deal of different measuring equipment started to be invented for hospitals, especially for a surgical wing and reanimation and also laboratories not only for making medicine but for different tests. In this article we can follow the ties between these two fields in a very detail See the article here Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #5 Bifurcation can be determined as a crucial moment in the history of society, science and technique in which or after which the further development can go in two or three ways and they all can be approximately equivalent. In this article the author tells about the connection between bifurcation and metrology by the example of SI and CGS system development of units proving that they can exist parallel See the article here Issue: KIPiS 2008 #5 September 19, 2008 was the date of scientific and practical seminar “New in the Legislation on unity of measurements”, which took place in Federal State Institution “Rostest-Moscow”. The following article is devoted to the state regulation forms, the specifications of a new law, its contest and main conception. Also the accreditation and its principal have been determined for the field of maintenance of measurements unity within this new law See the article here Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #4 Even in ancient ages governments had some issues that could not be solved without the help of metrology. For safety valuable documents and linear measures standards were kept in churches. The author clearly showed the role of church in metrology within this article and even its influence nowadays See the article here Author(s): Levin S. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #3, KIPiS 2008 #4 Record keeping of natural gas consumption, according to the measurements of the physical quantities which characterize the capacities of natural gas when moving in a pipeline, requires the solution of measurement tasks. Their mathematical support and software should be certified by means of experimental determination of inadequacy inaccuracy of the mathematical models used as well as the computing algorithms. These inaccuracies appear as a result of the analytic structure of mathematical models, the methods of their parameters evaluation, measuring inaccuracy and their transformation when calculating. The inaccuracies can be divided into structural, parametric and dimensional. The following article shows the resolutions of measurement tasks of the determination of the natural gas volume flow basing on the approximation of the “accurate” model. Author(s): Malyshev Y. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #3 In the article calibrators KC series in accordance with the standard “ĂÎŃŇ Đ 8.624-2006” are considered and from the point of view of practical using them for decision basic and secondary tasks in calibration laboratory and beyond it. Author(s): Wallard, Andrew Issue: KIPiS 2008 #3 The slogan of the BIPM (International Bureau of Weights and Measures) for 2008 is reflected in the title of the article by the CEO of this organization Andrew Wallard. Measurements are very important and concern almost all aspects of society life. As for sport, measurements are the determinants for sportsmen and play a very important role for the assessment of their results. All equipment should work properly and exclude any defects. Lots of additional factors should be also taken into consideration, for example time, height, distance are the elements of athletics, but temperature of water in the swimming pool can also make an influence on the results of a sportsman therefore it should be exactly measured and so on. Sports metrology requires main rules compliance of fine measurement.
Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #2 In this article the author tells about the control of electromagnetic environmental pollution and over the norms providing electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic safety. Author(s): Bryanskiy L. Issue: KIPiS 2008 #1 In the following article the author tells about ancient astronomy, the ways of its changing and its growing connection with metrology since the instruments used for astronomy aims modernized and improved as the time was changing. Astronomy achievements led to the measurements of a day length, the cycle of celestial appearances which was the base for solar and lunar calendars. The appearance of a gnomon and the improvement of sun-clock made it possible to measure the diameter of the Earth. Afterwards there was a year length identified as well as the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

Issue: KIPiS 2007 #3, KIPiS 2007 #4 In 2007 there was statistics published in different newspapers according to which the number of people killed in accidents turned to be overwhelming. Mass media asks anxious questions: Why do airplanes take off being out of order? Where do counterfeit spare parts come from? Are passengers “second hand” flights dangerous? What do the relatives of those killed in airplane crashes go to law for? In “Catastrophical Phenomenon of 1985-1986”, which coincided with minimal solar activity, the number of victims of rocket-and-space technique gave its way to the victim number of aeronautical engineering and also the number of victims killed in car accidents which reached its record – 260000 people in 1985. In the following article the author tells about the metrological aspects as well as the role of measurement errors in the “catastrophical phenomenon”. Author(s): Levin S. Issue: KIPiS 2007 #3, KIPiS 2007 #4 In this article, the author continues to tell about the metrological aspects as well as the role of measurement errors in the “catastrophical phenomenon”. Author(s): Afonskaya, Tatiana Issue: KIPiS 2007 #3 It is a brief review of the Jubilee Conference devoted to the 165th anniversary of Standard Measures and Weights Depot and 15th anniversary of Russian Metrology Academy, which took place on the 22 of May in Saint-Petersburg. |
