Tektronix Spectrum Analyzer Receives “Best of Test” 2009 Honor

02/05/2010

Tektronix, Inc., leading innovator of signal generation and analysis solutions required for the microwave and RF industry, today announced that the RSA6120A Spectrum Analyzer has received the 2009 Best of Test award from the editors of Electronic Design magazine. The Award honors top products of the year as covered in the magazine. To learn more about Tektronix Spectrum Analyzers, visit www.tektronix.com/rsa6000.

“Among the test-and-measurement products I covered during 2009, Tektronix’s RSA6120A spectrum analyzer stood out in several respects. The instrument's specifications, feature set, and battery of built-in measurements make for a formidable package,” said David Maliniak, Test and Measurement/EDA Editor, Electronic Design Magazine. “Especially interesting is the switched-filter preselector that can be used inline for wideband measurements.”

Designers can take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the RSA6000 Series when developing and characterizing radar and electronic warfare systems and components that operate in the X (8-12 GHz) and Ku (12-18 GHz) bands. In these applications, designers can use the RSA6120A spectrum analyzer to set up automated measurements that allow them to understand the behavior of transmit waveforms, validate a transmitter's design, and debug problems in a radar receiver.

The RSA6000 Series also supports applications in spectrum management, particularly in intelligence, regulatory monitoring, and defense applications. The RSA6120A provides unmatched dynamic range at Ku-band frequencies, featuring a spurious-free dynamic range of 75dB and a third order intercept of +19dB above 6 GHz.

“We are honored that the editors of Electronic Design magazine recognized the inherent innovation in the RSA6120A,” said Bob Hiebert, Director of Marketing, Source/Analyzer Product Line, Tektronix. “At Tektronix, we listen to our customers’ needs and strive to continually provide them with innovative new solutions to the technology challenges of their RF and microwave applications.”
