Modern low-cost handheld devices often have interfaces for connection to a PC allowing to use them as a universal data recorder. Mostly in such devices RS-232 protocol and quite simple software are used. However, in modern computers, especially laptops, RS-232 interface is found less often and limited software functions do not allow to make a full use of measurement results. This article describes AKTAKOM ATT series — budget instrumentation for nonelectrical quantities which has multifunctional software and the capability to connect to a PC via USB-interface.

This article is devoted to the newest means of wavelet signal analysis which haven’t been implemented yet in digital oscilloscopes hardware. These new means provide precise signal analysis and detection of hardly detectable signal characteristics. In MathLab these features are already applied in additional Wavelet Toolbox package and can be used in practice for actual oscillograms analysis. This article closes the theme started in the previous editions of our magazine.

One of the benefits of using highpower RF signal generator is its ability to deliver a pure, accurate signal at +25 dBm or greater to a device under test while maintaining spectral purity and level accuracy. As described in this article, these capabilities can simplify the testing of high-power amplifiers, overcome losses within automated test equipment systems, and address the attenuation of signals within long cable runs. Ultimately, the benefits of using a signal generator with high output power include reduced cost, size and weight of the resulting test system or configuration.

Oscilloscope is the most important instrument for radio engineers allowing to obtain maximum information about the signal with only one tool. In addition to its main function — signal visualization — modern oscilloscope can also function as a voltmeter, frequency meter, spectrum analyzer… Oscilloscope became essential for equipment debugging, search and analysis of different errors and anomalies, and search for highly unlikely events. In this article readers will get to know about capabilities and special operation modes of digital storage oscilloscope AKTAKOM ACK-3102 with 1T option.

Prof. Andrew J. Wallard, Director of the BIPM: Metrology has always had its eyes firmly fixed on practical steps in order to provide that «bridge to innovation ». Whitworth, that great British Victoria engineer said «You can only make as well as you can measure» and we are still faced with solving a measurement challenge so as to make a better product or to stimulate innovation. We are always trying to see why nature limits our ability to make a certain measurement, and then asking if the limit is a fundamental one or if, by coming up with some clever idea, we can go further. There is no doubt that metrology and science are interlinked and that the ability to make a better measurement opens up new opportunities.
