Both have pooled their expertise to provide methods of implementation (MOI) for precise, fast and error-free compliance testing of high-speed cables and backplanes in line with IEEE 802.3 (up to IEEE 802.3ck) and InfiniBand standards (up to rate designator HDR), using vector network analysis test equipment from Rohde & Schwarz.

MultiGBASE-T1 Ethernet standard meets these needs by including 2.5G, 5G and 10G speeds. Compared to 1000BASE-T1, MultiGBASE-T1 uses PAM4 (4 levels) modulation with symbol rates of 1.4, 2.8 and 5.6 GHz. The Open Alliance TC15 PMA compliance test specification addressing this standard is still in a draft state.
