Compact broadband amplifier from Rohde & Schwarz expands frequency range for EMC testing up to 6 GHz

10/23/2013

The new frequency range is an addition to the already existing range from 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz. Thanks to their state-of-the-art design, the amplifiers, which have been optimized for high frequencies, deliver high output power, and are still compact and lightweight. The modularity of the amplifiers makes it possible to configure complete systems flexibly to meet user requirements. The state-of-the-art amplifier design yields up to 200 W of output power in just four height units. The broadband amplifiers feature outstanding mismatch tolerance and can handle both short-circuiting at the RF end and an open RF output. This reduces both downtime and costs.

With the R&S BBA150 and the tried and tested R&S BBA100 broadband amplifier family, Rohde & Schwarz now offers amplifier systems from 9 kHz to 6 GHz. The two amplifiers allow EMS measurements in line with major standards in all commercial and industrial environments, including EMS measurements according to the EN 61000-4-3 basic standard. The amplifiers are also ideal for applications such as component testing, quality assurance, research, engineering physics, communications and radar. They can be used with amplitude, frequency, phase and pulse modulation.

The R&S BBA150 family offers models for two combinable frequency ranges: from 0.8 GHz to 3 GHz with power classes between 30 W and 200 W, and from 2.5 GHz to 6 GHz with power classes of 15 W, 30 W, 60 W and 100 W
