A Lot Of Water Flowed Under The Bridge

Some professions and sciences were born centuries ago and nowadays can be easily called the most ancient. Metrology has a full right to be considered one of them. Humanity was interested in the questions connected with legal and applied metrology long time ago when the first civilizations and states started to develop. Even at that time those questions were rather timely. Metrology development was very tightly connected with astronomy, arithmetic, geometry and other units of ancient science. The following article is very rich in the examples of ancient achievements and discovery and the role of metrology is very clearly reflected in all of them.
